TERMS OF SERVICE

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By registering for Hoops Troop programs or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. Parents or legal guardians must accept these terms on behalf of minor participants.

2. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Hoops Troop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing youth basketball training in Queens, NY. Our services include:

  • Instructional basketball training for grades K-12
  • Team practices for qualified players (invite only)
  • Free trial sessions for new participants

3. MEMBERSHIP AND PAYMENTS

  • Memberships are month-to-month with no long-term contracts
  • Payment is due at the beginning of each billing period
  • Cancel anytime before your next billing date
  • No refunds for partial months or missed sessions
  • Drop-in sessions are not available; membership required

4. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

All participants are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and ready to participate
  • Follow coach instructions and program rules
  • Treat coaches, staff, and other participants with respect
  • Wear appropriate athletic attire and sneakers
  • Give full effort during training sessions

Disruptive behavior, disrespect, or refusal to follow instructions may result in dismissal from the program without refund.

5. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER

By participating in Hoops Troop programs, you acknowledge and agree:

  • Basketball involves inherent risks including physical injury
  • You voluntarily assume all risks on behalf of your child
  • You release Hoops Troop, its coaches, staff, and facilities from liability for injuries
  • You authorize staff to seek emergency medical treatment if needed

A full waiver must be signed during registration before participation.

6. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

Parents must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or limitations that may affect their child's safe participation. Participants must be physically able to engage in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. If your child becomes ill or injured, please keep them home until fully recovered.

7. PHOTO AND VIDEO CONSENT

By participating, you grant Hoops Troop permission to photograph and record video of your child during training sessions. This content may be used for promotional purposes including social media, website, and marketing materials. You may revoke this consent in writing at any time.

8. SCHEDULE AND CANCELLATIONS

  • Sessions follow the NYC DOE school calendar
  • No sessions on NYC public school holidays
  • Weather cancellations will be communicated via email/text
  • Cancelled sessions are not refunded but may be made up

9. TEAM SELECTION

Team placement is at the sole discretion of Hoops Troop coaches based on skill level, effort, coachability, and team needs. Attendance at Instructional sessions or tryouts does not guarantee a team invitation. Team decisions are final.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hoops Troop and its officers, coaches, volunteers, and staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in our programs.

11. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Queens County, New York.
